Mark Chen helps clients and their counsel obtain the resources they need to obtain justice effectively and efficiently. He is actively involved in assessing lawsuits, estimating damages, and developing innovative financing solutions that provide clients with control over their litigation risks.
Mark brings to Validity more than a decade of experience analyzing and litigating cases in both federal and state courts throughout the country, as well as in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Mark’s practice focused on complex commercial litigation cases ranging from contracts disputes to business torts, with an emphasis on disputes arising in the technology, healthcare, and media sectors. Validity’s clients and their counsel benefit from Mark’s extensive experience with all phases of the dispute resolution process, from helping clients resolve disputes prior to filing suit, to managing cases at both the trial and appellate level.
Prior to joining Validity, Mark served as special counsel at Covington & Burling LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s commercial litigation and class action practice groups. Mark previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanley M. Marcus in the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Mark graduated summa cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he received the Boardman Law Prize for placing first in his class. Mark received his undergraduate degree with high honors from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Mark also competed for several years as a professional e-sports athlete.
